Soil science is a relatively young science, and this science has a "face." Of course, there are a lot of excellent soil scientists, but Vasily Vasilievich Dokuchaev was the very first soil scientist and rightfully he is probably the most famous soil scientist in the world, because due to his work in 1883 ('Russian chernozem') a new science emerged — soil science.
